This past week was such an amazing experience. On the first day of skating, everyone was figuring out who the coaches and skaters were, but by the end of the week, we were all friends. All of the coaches there were super nice and encouraging.
Almost every day we had an off-ice harness and workout class. We took turns on the off-ice harness, agility ladder, and TRX. There were also 2 group lessons each day where we worked on things from jumps to just plain crossovers. Every day we went to a dance class to learn a group dance that we performed at the end of the week on the ice. Twice, we went to a yoga class that was absolutely amazing. If you ever get the chance to do a yoga class, I suggest you do it because it is so relaxing and you feel amazing after. Also, stretching is very important in skating.
Everything that we worked on throughout the week has really helped to improve my skating. While I was there, a skating benefit show was held for Lucy Barret who was diagnosed with Leukemia. After the show, there was a meet and greet of the skaters who performed in the benefit show. I was able to meet Max Aaron, Jason Brown, Mirai Nagasu, Danny Samohin, Angela Wang, Ryan Bradley, Madison Hubbell, Zach Donohue, Vanessa James, and Morgan Cipres. If you ever get the chance to go to a G2C Super Camp, definitely take that chance because you will not regret it!
