Visiting the Ice Castles In Colorado

Just recently my family and I went to visit some beautiful ice castles. There are a few different locations across the U.S. where you can go and visit but the one we visited was in Dillon, CO.

On the outside, it looks just like a big “castle” made of ice but on the inside, it is full of exciting things to see and explore. Some things on the inside were just to look at and admire. There were gorgeous sculptures of ice, fountains, mini caves with big icicles on the top, and so much more to see. There also were some more interactive things like tunnels and slides. These activities varied greatly in size. Some you could walk through others you had to get down and crawl through. One of the exciting hotspots was this big chair made of ice. It was big enough for a couple of people to sit all at once and it had pretty spirals on the sides.

If you decide to go I would recommend wearing warm clothes and boots that cover your ankles. I only wore tennis shoes and there is a lot of snowy slush to walk around in. In other words, my ankles were freezing lol. Nonetheless, it was a great experience and I definitely would recommend going to explore the ice castles if you get the chance.
