QOTD: Let new adventures begin! ~Unknown

Homeboni1

Building a zamboni or "homeboni" is very simple. We used 1 inch PVC pipe. Glued it together in the shape you see in the picture.

Once you hook a hose to it, you just need to adjust the water to the right amount. The right amount is very hard to know. We put one hole in the top T so we could easily see the water flow. After a few trials we know how much to adjust based on the top hole. On our homeboni we adjust until the water lands on the outside ...

This year I decided to do an artistic program to "How Far I'll Go" from Moana. After seeing the movie, I knew that this was a program I wanted to do. I decided to try it out at our local competition first. At the competition, it just so happened that 41 people were doing an artistic program. If you don't know excactly how artistic works, here is a basic explanation. The first round is split by level. In the first round there are recall judges (who have no skating experience) and skating ...

QOTD: The harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you acheive it. ~ Unknown

In the video below, I've included 8 axel drills. All of these drills helped me to get my axel. Now, I am sharing them with you so that you can use them to help get your axel. In the video, you will see that on one of the watlz jump loops, I have both hands on my right hip (or left if you are a lefty). That is to prevent you from opening up to the left side (unless ...

QOTD: In any given moment we have two options: To step forward into growth or step back into safety. ~Abraham Maslow

This past week has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. On the first day of skating, everyone was figuring out who the coaches and skaters were, but by the end of the week we were all friends. All of the coaches there were super nice and encouraging. Almost every day we had an off-ice harness and workout class. We took turns on the ...

QOTD: There is nothig you can't do, if you set your mind to it. Anything is possible! - Rick Hanson

If you are working on axels right now, here five drills that I found helpful.
